Choose Your Furniture Carefully To Maximise The Space In Your Home.

Not everyone is lucky enough to live in a home with more room than you require. As a matter of fact, for most families, space can be quite tight in some rooms, so before you buy any new items of furniture, take time to consider your options and make the most of the space you have. It’s important that, as with anything, you understand what you need, not just what you want, before going out to buy (or have designed and made for you) and, as such, we’ve teamed up with Priest Brothers to take a look at just a few of your options and the importance of choosing furniture carefully.

Hallways Can Become Cluttered

Unless you have a large hall it’s quite common for this area of the home to become cluttered with possessions, so consider buying a Double Basket Console Table to make the most of drawer space and also a couple of baskets for all the extras. Available in a choice of finishes from many outlets, it will compliment the décor of any home.

If a console table is something you’re not too keen on then take a look at a Phone Table instead. Whilst not as long as a console table it comes with a couple of drawers and shelves to make the most of a relatively small area.

Designing Your Dining Room Space

In the dining room make sure you go for an Extending Dining Table that be extended on the occasions when you need more dining space but reduced in size for the majority of the time. Go for a Display Cabinet that will take up less floor space rather than a low sideboard that will take up far more room, preferably one that combines drawers and shelves for versatility. A Corner Display Cabinet is also worth considering when space is tight.

When your home is quite compact you need to be clever with the way you furnish it so consider locating a bookshelf; preferably a tall one to maximise the storage space, on the landing or in the hall. Being fairly slim it won’t look out of place but can provide a little bit extra shelving for your book collection or those items you want out on display.

At the end of the day, furniture presents a whole host of options and allows you to get creative with your space, you just need to plan carefully and think ahead!
