According to the Christian mythology this tree has derived from Riga, Latvia. Many of us know the story as it became a popular one later. According to the Christmas legend there was a monk whose name was Boniface. He somehow used triangular appearance of a tree that was evergreen. He used the tree to narrate the trinity. He opined god is the father, son and also the sacred spirit. In the 16th century they were first seen in the Western Germany in the plays. They were used in the Garden of Eden. We all know the story of Adam and Eve.
